Supporting Information for Predicting quality traits in cultivated rice using multi-platform metabolomics

چکیده
Chemical diversity was estimated by fetching predicted physicochemical properties from the ChemSpider database (http://www.chemspider.com) for the detected metabolites and the metabolites mentioned in the RiceCyc database. Vapor pressure was log transformed and all traits were scaled to unit variance to give them equal importance. Chemical coverage was defined as the percentage of variance among the PlantCyc metabolites that could be predicted using a principal component analysis (PCA) model of the properties of the detected metabolites. See ref. [6] for details.

Allelic diversity and association analysis for grain quality traits in exotic rice genotypes
The present research aims to study the association and allelic diversity of linked microsatellite markers to grain quality QTLs of 84 exotic rice genotypes. To this end, 9 microsatellite markers (RM540, RM539, RM587, RM527, RM216, RM467, RM3188, RM246, RM5461) were used in which a total of 61 alleles were identified with a mean of 6 alleles per locus. The polymorphism information content (PIC) ...
متن کاملBroadening Gene Pool of Rice for Resistance to Biotic Stresses Through Wide Hybridization
Variability in the cultivated germplasm for economic traits such as resistance to rice tungro virus, sheathblight, yellow stem borer, drought and salt tolerance is limited. This necessitated search for the genes in secondary and tertiary gene pool of genus Oryza. Fortunately, wild species are an important reservoir ofuseful genes for resistance to major disease, pest and tolerance t...
متن کاملGenome-wide association mapping reveals a rich genetic architecture of complex traits in Oryza sativa
Asian rice, Oryza sativa is a cultivated, inbreeding species that feeds over half of the world's population. Understanding the genetic basis of diverse physiological, developmental, and morphological traits provides the basis for improving yield, quality and sustainability of rice. Here we show the results of a genome-wide association study based on genotyping 44,100 SNP variants across 413 div...
متن کاملO-6: A Multi-Regional Study on New Approaches to Investigate The Quality of Human Sperm - Including DNA Fragmentation, Proteomics and Metabolomics
Background: Preliminary data has also shown that there is less fragmented sperm in 2nd and 3rd ejaculates compared to first ones which could be a major factor in determining the pregnancy outcome. Assessing this factor objectively and relating it to other parameters in sperm quality in this study could result in new prediction criteria for the pregnancy outcome. Materials and Methods: As one of...
متن کاملGenetic worth and stability of selection indices in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Improvement of one trait on its own will affect the performance of other traits because ofgenotypic correlations between traits. Index selection is one of the tools used by plant breedersto overcome this problem. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate selection indices developedfor improving grain yield in rice (Oryza sativa L.). Forty-nine rice genotypes were cultivated atTonekabon Rice Rese...
